Come stay off-grid in the wilds of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Enjoy a Peaceful Off-Grid Vacation

Immerse yourself in the wilds of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

When you stay at Jordon Off-Grid Cabins—The J.O.C.—you are up close and personal with natural beauty and wildlife. The log cabin and surrounding land are in the prime location for hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, ATVing, snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, bird watching, and more!

The cabin is available for rent in Michigan’s Western Upper Peninsula (known as the “U.P.”). It is located approximately 27 miles north of the Wisconsin Border in Bruce Crossing, Michigan, at Military Hill on US 45.

Bobcat Cabin

Bobcat Cabin is so named because of the beautiful feline caught on our trail cam shortly after installation. The log cabin is a 396 square foot vacation rental that can fit 4 adults comfortably. It sits on 36 acres of privately owned land that is surrounded on three sides by the Ottawa National Forest. The cabin is fully off-grid, and has indoor heating and electricity powered by a whole house solar system and liquid propane gas (green energy). It also has a deep water well, indoor plumbing, and a complete septic system to provide all the modern comforts you appreciate while still being in a pristine natural environment.

Experience the Upper Peninsula in Any Season!

The J.O.C. is the perfect place for your U.P. Michigan vacation.

Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, we provide direct access to prime snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and other outdoor activities year-round from our off-grid log cabin and 36 acres of private land located in Michigan’s Beautiful Upper Peninsula.

This rental cabin caters to snowmobilers, out-of-state and in-state hunters, hikers, fishing enthusiasts, ATVers and anyone who loves the outdoors.

Snowmobiling

Direct Trail Access

We offer direct and convenient access to snowmobile trail number 3 which begins south of Bond Falls and runs through the eastern edge of the property north up to Twin Lakes State Park.

Other vacation rentals in the area require a drive to off-load your snowmobile or off-road vehicle to access trails. You will have the ability to ride your snowmobiles directly to and from the cabin’s front door. Miles of ATV trails begin at the northeast corner of the property as well.

Hunting

Abundant Wildlife

Because the J.O.C. is surrounded on 3 sides by the Ottawa National Forest, we also offer an abundance of hunting opportunities for the ethical harvesting of wildlife such as whitetail deer, bobcat, coyote, turkey, snowshoe hare, cottontail rabbits, and bear.

Hunters have direct access to hunt 36 acres of private land or thousands of acres of public Ottawa National Forest land directly to the north, east, or west of the property. Air rifles, bow and arrow, and powder burners are all permissible (in season).

Hiking

Beautiful Views

Less than 2 miles from J.O.C. is the trailhead to the beautiful O Kun-De-Kun Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in Ontonagon County. That parking lot also is the access point to the North Country Trail, which stretches over 4,800 miles from beginning to end, offering endless hiking to the east and west.

Hiking Old US 45 (trail number 3) during off-season months is also an exciting way to exercise and enjoy the outdoors, and that is directly accessible from the cabin’s front door.

Fishing

Pristine Waterways

The J.O.C. is in a prime location for fishing for a variety of fish including largemouth bass, walleye, drum, flathead catfish, catfish, white bass and striped bass.

There are several nearby fisheries, such as Military Hill Roadside Park which sits on the middle branch of the Ontonagon River, Johnson and Erickson Lakes, Bond Falls just outside of Paulding, MI, and the south branch of the Ontonagon River less than 15 minutes away in Ewen, Michigan, which also has a boat launch.

For guided fishing on Lake Superior, we recommend Sand Point Charters with Captain Brian Helminen.

The best vacation of your life!

Location

Proximity to “Civilization”

Although secluded, The J.O.C. is less than 10 miles north of the town of Bruce Crossing and 16 miles south of the town of Rockland, and accessed directly off of US Hwy 45. While we pride ourselves in providing a comfortable and enjoyable home away from home experience, if there are any essentials that you may have forgotten, or you want a restaurant meal, it is a quick 10-minute drive to food, drink, gas, and toiletries.
